The European LIFE+ A_GreeNet project, co-funded by the European Union through the LIFE program, aims to make the cities of the Central Adriatic coast more resilient to climate change through various interventions: soil restoration, the planting of forests and green areas, flexible solutions (vertical greenery, green roofs, green devices, etc.), and promoting the effective implementation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).
To make the coastal cities of the Central Adriatic more resilient to climate change by creating green infrastructure in urban areas, as proposed in various EU strategies and recommendations.
It targets various categories of stakeholders in the area, who will be involved and guided step by step through the creation of a network that allows the exchange of best practices and knowledge on the topic of climate change adaptation.
The actions planned for the project are six and range from the survey, harmonization, and sharing of data to the development of pathways for transferring the A_GreeNet methodology to support the creation of coastal green infrastructure in other contexts.
The LIFE+A_GreeNet project aims to achieve a series of results at the local level, but also, and above all, at the level of multilevel governance, acting across regional, provincial, national, and ultimately European contexts.
The climate risk map helps to understand what is happening in the Italian territory, as it collects and processes information on the impacts of climate events on urban areas, infrastructure, and historical assets. Consult the map at cittàclima.it.
